Privacy Policy

Intentional is built to be private by design. The app runs entirely on your Mac. We do not operate servers for the app, and we do not collect, store, sell, or share any of your data. Ever.

What Intentional stores — and where

• Your focus data. Sessions, tasks, presets, favorites, streaks, and stats are stored in local files on your Mac. They never leave your machine.
• Blocklists. The websites and apps you choose to block are stored locally on your Mac.
• Browser activity. During an active focus session, Intentional checks the address of your frontmost browser tab to decide whether it is on your blocklist. This check happens in memory on your Mac. Browsing activity is never logged, stored, or transmitted.

Optional integrations

• Google Calendar. If you connect Google Calendar, Intentional talks directly to Google's API from your Mac to show your upcoming events and, if you enable it, to place focus sessions on your calendar. Your Google sign-in tokens are stored securely in your macOS Keychain. Calendar data is displayed in the app and is not stored elsewhere or sent to anyone.
• Slack. If you connect Slack, Intentional talks directly to Slack's API from your Mac to update your own status during focus sessions. Your Slack token is stored securely in your macOS Keychain.

Both integrations are optional and off by default. Disconnecting them removes the stored tokens.

What we don't do

• No accounts — you never sign up for anything to use Intentional.
• No analytics, telemetry, or crash reporting.
• No tracking, no advertising, no third-party SDKs that phone home.
• No developer servers — there is nothing for us to collect your data with.

Network connections the app makes

Intentional only connects to the internet for things you ask it to do: Google Calendar and Slack API calls (if connected), fetching website icons for your blocklist, and — in the version downloaded from our website — checking for app updates. The Mac App Store version updates through the App Store instead.

Changes

If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new date above.
